Junior Tennis Registration Form

We have been very fortunate to receive a grant from Mana Community Grants Foundation that once again lets us subsidise our professional coaching this year. Whitby Tennis Club is therefore very pleased to be able to offer junior tennis club membership for the 2017/18 season that includes options either with or without weekly coaching lessons and/or weekly interclub as follows:

  • Junior membership + Group coaching: $180
  • Junior membership + Junior Interclub: $180
  • Junior membership + Group coaching + Junior Interclub: $210
  • Junior membership + Group coaching + Senior Interclub: $250

Note: Interclub fees include Wellington Regional Tennis affiliation fees, team fees and ball fees.

Junior Club Championships will be held towards the end of Term 1 2018.  All Whitby Tennis Club junior club members will be able to participate in these events.

Junior Coaching
Small group coaching sessions are available for all registered Whitby Tennis Club junior members.  These take place every Wednesday afternoon or Friday afternoon during school Term 4 2017 and Term 1 2018, weather permitting.  A group text message will be sent to all parents by 3.15pm on the day of coaching advising of any cancellations.  Any cancelled coaching sessions will be caught up at the end of the school term, where possible.

Coaching is by an experienced, professional Tennis Coach – Mark Flannery.  Mark is also available for one-on-one coaching at Whitby Tennis Club and may be contacted directly on 027 329 9071.

The session times for junior coaching are based on each player's age and relative tennis playing ability & experience, as well as the overall number of children registering for junior coaching - as determined by the Junior Convenor and the Coach. Indicative times are:

  • 3.45pm - 4.30pm:   6 - 8 year olds
  • 4.30pm - 5.15pm:   9 - 10 year olds
  • 5.15pm - 6.15pm:   11 - 13 year olds
  • 6.15pm - 7.30pm:   14 - 17 year olds

Junior Interclub
All Kapi Mana Junior Interclub grades commence on the weekend of 28/29 October 2017 and will run through until mid December with a break for the Christmas holidays, recommencing at the start of Term 1 2018.

All grades play on Saturday mornings, with the exception of the Novice grade which plays on Sunday mornings.  Whitby Tennis Club prefers that where possible all Saturday interclub players play in Whitby Tennis Club shirts. Further details including interclub draws, results and upcoming junior tournaments can be be viewed on the Tennis Central Juniors web page.
